Beauty is as Beauty does!

The dictionary says that beautiful is something or someone we look upon and are pleased with what we see.

The Bible tells us in 1Peter 1:3-4
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.

Romans 10:15
As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Mark 14:3-6
While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of a man known as Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head. Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, "Why this waste of perfume? It could have been sold for more than a year's wages and the money given to the poor." And they rebuked her harshly. "Leave her alone," said Jesus. "Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me.

Beautiful is the Women spoken of in Proverbs 31 Here are a few exerts from that chapter taken from the message bible:
When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say, and she always says it kindly.
She's up before dawn, preparing breakfast for her family and organizing her day. Her husband trusts her without reserve, and never has reason to regret it. Never spiteful, she treats him generously all her life long. She's quick to assist anyone in need, reaches out to help the poor. She doesn't worry about her family when it snows; their winter clothes are all mended and ready to wear. She keeps an eye on everyone in her household, and keeps them all busy and productive. Charm can mislead and beauty soon fades. The woman to be admired and praised is the woman who lives in the Fear-of-God. Give her everything she deserves! Festoon her life with praises!
And I add Beauty is as beauty does and such a woman as this is Beautiful indeed!

I write about beauty today to honor all MOM's out there. Mom's are often selfless, serving others with out a thought toward themselves. Mom's are often over looked as the beautiful people they are. Rather they are thought of as the means of nourishment or clean clothes.

I encourage us all to take a look at our moms today and remember the good things they have done for us. Remember the times you were picked up and dusted off. Remember those encouraging words you heard when you were about to give up. Remember the love you felt with every hug and tender look she gave. Remember her as the beauty she is. Give her a call or even better give her a hug in person and tell her so the world can hear "MOM YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!"
